  2. Right-click the Network Descriptor file with the name of the QuickBooks corporate file and select Rename.
  3. Enter the OLD, if you enter a file name, press Enter, and you will be asked to enter the file name: Company file name.qbw.nd.OLD).
  4. If you find the file on multiple systems, follow these steps. If you are using QuickBooks software on the same system, you can open the company file right away.
  5. Click the Windows Start button and select Programs > QuickBooks > QuickBooks > QuickBooks database server manager.
  6. Click Scan Folder.
  7. If the folder containing the company file is not present, click Add Folder and add it.
  8. Click Scan.
  9. When you are finished scanning, click Close.

  4. However, if you are accessing the same file on your computer, you will need to go to the next step.
  5. Click the Windows Start button and select Programs, then QuickBooks, then the QuickBooks database server manager.
  6. Select the Scan option.
  7. If no other folder contains a company file, click Add Folder to add it.
  8. Click on the Scan option.
  9. After scanning is complete, select the Close option.
  10. Finally, open the QuickBooks file.
