Recently, NVIDIA announced a new update that will give its users added enhancements to their NVIDIA Shield TV. With the new update, the Android TV streaming device will now allow users to connect their PlayStation 5 DualSense and Xbox Series X/S console game controllers.
The new Shield Experience firmware upgrade is 8.2.2. It is said to be the 27th software update released by NVIDIA. Once you connect your PlayStation and Xbox controllers, you can now enjoy playing on GeForce Now, Stadia, and other Android games. You can also stream better on your Shield TV.
Update 8.2.2 also releases bug fixes that users reported from the previous versions. There is now a fix on the password sharing folder issue. Users can not re-enter WiFi password for low power APs. The DD+ surround is now available for Amazon Prime Video. You can now recharge the SHIELD Controller 2017.
The firmware update 8.2.2 allows support to the Control4 home automation systems. Now, you can launch the installed app and use your Control4 remote and app on your Shield TV.
How to Download & Install NVIDIA Shield Experience TV Firmware/Software Upgrade
Updating your NVIDIA Shield Experience device firmware is easy. In most cases, software updates will appear on your notification bar once available. Then, you will need to confirm if you want your system to download and install the upgrade to your Shield TV.
But, if you did not see the Shield Experience update notification, you can also check it out manually.
- First, navigate to the Home Screen of your NVIDIA Shield TV.
- On your remote control, scroll down to go to the Settings menu.
- Highlight the Settings and press the Select button.
- Select the About option.
- Look for the System updates and select to open.
- If there are available updates, you will see them on the result.
- Select the update to download it.
