Pinterest is widely known for its image search, making it a lot easier for users to look for Pins based on the pictures they upload. However, it may not be enough to specifically discover matching tastes. With the new AI-based tools and enhancements, users are able to further locate results intuitively and find the right style for them.
According to Pinterest, the use of Visual Language Models (VLMs) enables them to offer users expanded vocabulary to help them identify what they want. This generative AI technology enhances and stretches the user’s capacity to locate the perfect images and pins that match their tastes.
Do you have a specific color in mind? Perhaps an outfit style? When you view a Pin, You can use generated words that best suit what attracted you to the image and use these words to further search for things to shop. Pinterest will even highlight these parts with a new animated glow.
Plus, new search categories will help curate images so you can easily identify the style that you want. You can check out similar items based on occasion, style, colour, season and more. What’s more, Pinterest made the Search image button within your reach. Simply long press any Pin and the button will appear.
As of now, Pinterest will launch these AI-enhanced tools in the U.K., Canada and the U.S.
