There are several exciting features brought by the recent macOS Tahoe update. However, one notable and surely unfavorable effect is the crashing of apps after the said update, especially Zoom. For those who rely on Zoom for work and private communications, this is definitely frustrating.

According to some users, whenever they have a Zoom call, the screen starts to lag and video or audio ceases. Then, the app crashes. Launching it back will often result in unresponsiveness. The question is, is it worth the Tahoe 26.0.1 upgrade? Are there fixes to troubleshoot this issue?

Upgrading your operating system is worth the fixes and improvements that you can experience out of it. More often than not, system upgrades are not perfect. They still have issues and bugs intact on them despite launching publicly. And this happens to be true with macOS Tahoe update.

Still, we can find solutions that will help you work your way around this problem.

Force Quit your Zoom App

Click on the Apple logo to launch the menu and select Force Quit. Choose Zoom and click the Force Quit button. If your Zoom app automatically quits and you see a dialog box appears, click Reopen.

Clear your Zoom App Cache

Launch Finder on your MacBook and navigate to the menu ribbon. Click the Go option and scroll down to Go to Folder. Enter ~/Library/Caches and press Return. Locate Zoom and navigate to the Cache folder. Delete it.

Reinstall the Zoom App

Now not all users find this method effective after trying different versions of the Zoom app. But, it may work for you. Look for the Uninstaller folder of the app and launch it. Follow the instructions to delete the app. If you can’t find it, simply drag the app folder to the Trash.

Next, you need to completely delete the app before you reinstall a new version. Go again to your Finder and to the Library section. Look for the app folder and delete all the remaining files including cache and preferences. Lastly, reinstall the Zoom app

Give Zoom Full Disk Access

Head over to the System Settings and navigate to Privacy & Security. Select Privacy and click Full Disk Access. Choose Zoom and follow the instructions.
