The Err_Cache_Miss error points out an issue with your browser cache. It may be due to a problem with Google Chrome itself or the website you are trying to visit. Sometimes, an issue with your Internet service may also cause the error.

How to Troubleshoot & Resolve ERR_CACHE_MISS Error in Google Chrome Browser

The ERR_CACHE_MISS issue means that the cache files are missing, so Google Chrome stopped working. It usually happens on Chrome browser app for Android phones. Fortunately, you can try to resolve the Err_Cache_Miss error by following the solutions below.

Solution #1 – Reload the Website

If you encounter the Err_Cache_Miss error, the first thing you can do is hit the Refresh button on the page. If the Err_Cache_Miss error still appears, you can exit your Google Chrome browser, wait for a few minutes and relaunch it.

Solution #2 – End Task your Google Chrome Browser

Sometimes, a quick exit and relaunch may not work. What you need to do is end the task processes of Google Chrome.

  • If you are using Windows 10 or 11 PC, click the Start button.
  • Select Search and enter Task Manager.
  • Click the Task Manager from the search results.
  • Navigate to the Processes tab.
  • Highlight Google Chrome and right-click on it.
  • Select End Task.
  • If you are using a MacBook, you need to launch the Activity Monitor.
  • Open the Launchpad and click the Activity Monitor.
  • Search for Google Chrome and highlight it.
  • Now, click the Force Quit button or the X icon on the top left corner.

Solution #3 – Clear Google Chrome Browser Cache

  • On your Google Chrome browser, click the three-dotted icon in the upper right corner.
  • Select Settings.
  • Go to Security and Privacy on the left side.
  • On the right side, scroll down to the Security and Privacy section.
  • Select Clear browsing data.
  • Set the Time range to All Time.
  • Check the boxes next to Browsing history, Download history, Cookies, and Cached images and files.
  • Click the Clear Data button.

Solution #4 – Reset your Google Chrome Settings

  • On your Google Chrome browser, click the three-dotted icon.
  • Go to Settings.
  • On the left side, scroll down to Advanced.
  • On the right side, navigate to Reset settings.
  • Click Restore settings to their original defaults.

Solution #5 – Reset your Network Settings

If the problem is with your network connection, you can try to reset the settings.

  • Click the Start button and go to the Settings menu.
  • Select Network and Internet.
  • Click Status.
  • Select Network Reset.
  • Choose Reset Now.
  • Click Yes.

Solution #6 – Update your Google Chrome Browser

  • Click the three-dotted icon on your Chrome browser.
  • Go to Help.
  • Select About Google Chrome.
  • Click the Relaunch button to install available updates.
