If you are always out jogging or running, bringing your smartphone with you might be an issue. That is why smartwatches are a trend for health buffs who exercise or have their hands full at all times. By bringing some of your smartphone features on your wrist, you don’t have to worry about keeping your phones on your hands or pockets always.

Samsung Galaxy Watch has a voice-activated feature that lets you use voice commands to perform actions on your smartwatch. If you need to answer a call, you can say the command, and your Samsung Galaxy Watch will get your call or initiate a new call for you. You can also use other commands like “Open an app,” “Message this contact,” or “Set an alarm.”

But, some users complained that their Samsung Galaxy Watch microphone is not working when they try to voice out a command. They are not getting any response on their smartwatches and can’t talk or turn on the mic on the wearable gear. The built-in mic on the device just stopped working completely. This problem happens mostly on Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 and Galaxy Watch Active 2.

Samsung uses Bixby as its voice assistant to perform the actions needed when you say a command. You can also install Google Assistant. If you cannot receive any response when using your watch’s mic from Bixby on your Galaxy Watch, do the methods below.

Solution #1 – Clean your Samsung Galaxy Watch

Using your Galaxy Watch can lead to dust and dirt accumulating on your wearable device. It will affect your smartwatch if these specks get in the ports, especially the Microphone port. You can clean your Galaxy Watch with freshwater after using it. Make sure to dry your smartwatch thoroughly. Avoid using harsh cleaning materials.

You can also clean the microphone port. Using a pin, poke the mic hole to remove dust or dirt that may be accumulating and blocking your voice from coming through.

  • Select Connections.
  • Choose Bluetooth.
  • Go to your Galaxy Watch.
  • Select Unpair.
  • Wait for a few moments.
  • Follow the steps above, and this time, tap Pair.

Solution #3 – Reset your Samsung Galaxy Watch

  • Open the Galaxy Wearable app.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Select General.
  • Tap Reset.
  • Follow the instructions to reset your smartwatch.

Samsung Galaxy Watch has an Eject Water feature that will remove water droplets stuck inside the device. If you used your smartwatch on water, the water droplets may be the reason why your microphone isn’t working. It also causes a lot of speaker and sound issues.

  • Dry your smartwatch with a towel.
  • Launch the Settings menu.
  • Go to Advanced.
  • Disable the Water Lock Mode.
  • Tilt your smartwatch with the speaker facing down. It will drain the water out. Your Power button must face up.
  • Tap Advanced again.
  • Select Eject water with sound.
  • Tap Play sound to clear water from the speakers.
  • It will drip out water from your smartwatch. Tap it dry using a clean towel.

If none of the solutions above work, you will need to contact Samsung Customer Care Support and report your Galaxy Watch mic problem. Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
