Uninstall and Fully Delete Microsoft Teams from Windows 11 PC

Not a lot of Windows users are actually using Microsoft Teams as their video conferencing app. The MS Teams app comes with your Microsoft Office suite, so you have it pre installed in your Windows 11 PC. It may not always be a bother to have an app on your PC even if you are not using it primarily. However, if you choose to delete the Teams app, you can always do so.

Uninstalling Microsoft Teams from your Windows 11 PC takes only a few steps. But, bear in mind that will automatically be installed if you reinstall the Office package or perform an online repair. You can simply uninstall the Teams app again.

To start, you will need to have administrative rights to delete the Teams app from your Windows computer. 

First, close all your Microsoft Teams windows. Next, launch the Settings menu of your Windows 11 PC. Head over to Apps and go to Installed Apps. Now, look for Microsoft Teams and click the three-dotted icon next to it. Choose Uninstall and click the Uninstall button.

Once notified with the permission to make changes in your device, click Yes. It will proceed to the uninstallation process.

You will notice that there is also the Microsoft Teams (personal) app. You also need to uninstall it using the same process above after uninstalling Microsoft Teams classic.

Now, you can close the Settings window.

After uninstalling the Microsoft Teams apps, your next step is to delete the remaining Teams files. Go to %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams and delete the Microsoft Teams folder. Next go to %localappdata%\Microsoft\Teams and delete the folder.

It is time to delete the registry keys. Launch the Registry Editor. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Teams and right click on it. Select Delete and click Yes. Now, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Teams and right click on it. Delete and confirm with Yes.

That’s it! Now you can delete the Microsoft Teams app completely from your Windows 11 PC and use your preferred video conferencing app.
