Great news to Microsoft Teams users! Whenever you feel the need to instantly mute or unmute yourself during a meeting, you can now do so with only one easy click. Microsoft launched the microphone icon in the Windows 11 or 10 computer taskbar so you can access the control in just a second.

Sometimes, you need to mute yourself during a Teams meeting when a phone call happens or when a sound from your end becomes distracting. Other times, you must immediately unmute yourself when your boss calls you out.
How to Mute & Unmute yourself from Windows Taskbar During Microsoft Teams Meetings on Windows 11 PC
No fret in doing just that when you can simply click a button to switch from mute to unmute or vice versa! With the new Microsoft Teams feature, it is so much more convenient.

A microphone icon will appear in your Windows taskbar when you are in a Teams video meeting. Click the microphone icon if you want to mute or unmute your audio. Do you work better with the keyboard? You can also press Windows key + Alt + K to turn the mic on or off.
The new feature on Microsoft Teams is rolling out slowly to selected users. As of now, it is only available to members of the Teams Public Preview or Microsoft 365 Targeted release builds using the new Teams client for Windows. You can still access the feature if eligible even if other meeting participants are not eligible.
