Opera Flow is the encrypted space you’re sharing between Opera Touch – the Opera browser for your mobile devices – and the desktop computer-based Opera internet browser. The application is advertised as a safe, encrypted, and secure way that you can send files, links, YouTube videos, photos, and personal notes, as well as access them at any time from your connected mobile phone or laptop, or desktop computer.

My Flow on Opera browsers is a very popular solution to making sure that you have your important documents and media with you at all times, backed up safely and securely, whilst also being fully encrypted – as are most of Opera’s solutions. It works between an Android phone or iPhone and a Mac or Windows PC device.

However, Opera Flow brings with it some issues, and some users can find that they are unable to connect to their device with the browser app feature, which further declines incoming connections. So, if you are a user of Opera Flow who is experiencing connection issues to your device, then this article is for you as it will explain how to fix and hopefully resolve the Opera Flow not connecting errors.

How to Fix Opera My Flow Failed to Connect on Phone with “Connection Declined on your Other Device” Error Message

When you experience the Opera Flow error and it won’t connect on your phone you might encounter the error message “Failed to connect. Connection declined on your other device.” To help you troubleshoot and fix the issue on Android or iOS devices, follow these solutions.

Method #1 – Make sure your device is properly connected

To ensure your computer and phone are properly connected with Flow, you should follow the following steps after launching Opera Touch and Flow which will take you through the connection process.

  1. Enter the Settings section of Opera Touch on your phone.
  2. At the top of the settings section, click Connect a Computer.
  3. Tap to scan a QR code.
  4. Scan the displayed QR code with your smartphone. This will connect your phone to the computer.

Alternatively, to setup flow with a connection code:

  1. Enter the Settings section of Opera Touch on your phone.
  2. At the top of the settings section, click Connect a Computer.
  3. Below the QR code generated previous, click manually enter connection code.
  4. On your mobile device, tap Type the Connection Code.
  5. Your phone and computer will not be connected.

Method #2 – Reinstall the Opera Touch Application and Opera Browser

It is possible that either the Opera Touch or Opera Browser apps installed on your device are damaged or have some sort of error in them, and so one possible solution to the error is to reinstall both browser apps to ensure they are factory reset. This will also ensure that both versions are the latest update, as the latest updates can often resolve issues such as these ones.

Alternatively, if you still do not have any luck with the above options, then maybe your device is just not compatible with Opera Flow. Make sure you visit Opera Flow’s official page and check to see if your device is compatible with the client applications on the site, as some older devices are not officially supported and so can run into these sorts of issues.

Unsupported devices will not receive the same amount of testing as others, which can result in the issue occurring. If you have one of the unsupported devices, unfortunately, you will not be able to use Opera Flow.
