Encountering a frozen app is nothing new in Windows 11. Your app may already be outdated or have insufficient resources. Maybe there are storage or cache problems or software incompatibility.
Due to these varying reasons, the program you may be using may become instantly unresponsive. All you have to do is to simply launch the Task Manager and perform an End Task to the problematic application. It may be an easy thing to do, but what if you have a deadline to meet?

Thankfully, Microsoft has a shortcut tool that you can do whenever you want to close a frozen app. Simply look for the app icon on the taskbar and right click on it. Click End Task and you are good to go!
However, this feature is only available to Windows 11, version 24H2. You will need to update your PC to this version and enable the feature to enjoy the added convenience.
To install version 24H2, launch the Settings menu and head over to Windows Update. Look for the Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available option and enable it. Now, click the Check for updates button. If there is an available update, click the Download & install button. Once done, click Restart now.
The Windows 11, version 24H2 was rolled out late last year. If you haven’t received the update as of now, there might be compatibility issues or it hasn’t been made available to you yet.

After you update your Windows 11 software, you will need to enable the End Task feature. Go to the Settings menu. Navigate to System and go to For developers. Scroll down to End task and toggle it to On.
That’s it! Now you can save time and a few steps in quitting a frozen app.
