Android users love the idea of being able to track and find their smartphones, tablets and other Android devices. But, Google’s Find My Device network is only limited to residents in the US and Canada. How about in other parts of the world?

Don’t fret! Google may be fulfilling its promise to roll out the network around the world, starting within the US and Canada, during their introduction of the Find My Device Network at the Google I/O 2023 developer conference. They started launching the network in the two countries last April and making it available worldwide in the near future.

Now, there are instances where some users experienced the benefit of Google’s Find My Device in the UK and Japan. According to Neowin, a user from Japan shared a screenshot on X while using Google’s Find My Device. Another user from the UK also received an opt-in message to join Google’s Find My Device network.

Whether Google indeed is releasing the network gradually to different parts of the world or just an accident, it is good news to all Android users who are looking forward to using the network in tracking their devices. If Google’s network makes its full launch worldwide, you can use it on your Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro devices with Android 9 and higher versions.
