If you have a Google smart speaker at home but are using an iPhone, you may feel that it will be hard to get these devices interconnected. The Google Nest smart speakers are compatible with Android devices, so you would think it is impossible connecting your iPhone or iPad to it.

Now, it is about to change with the new feature on Google Nest. iPhone owners will be happy to know that they can get help finding their lost iPhone or iPad devices using Google Assistant on Google Nest.

Siri will no longer be the only capable virtual assistant or digital helper to help you when you lose or can’t find or remember where you put down your Apple mobile devices. You can simply holler, “Hey Google, find my phone,” and it will help you look for your misplaced phone.

Losing your devices is frustrating. What’s more irritating is when after you turned your house topsy turvy, you still haven’t found your phone. In comes Google Assistant, where you can blurt out your command, and Google will detect your smartphone for you.

When you say, “Hey Google, find my phone,” to your Google Nest smart speaker and the display will locate your phone, even if it is an iPhone, and make it create a tune that you can hear. It works even when you set your phone to Do Not Disturb or Silent Mode.

Other criteria to start using Google Assistant to detect your iPhone or iPad is to enable the Voice Match feature.

  • Launch the Google app.
  • Tap your Profile.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Select Voice and Assistant.
  • Now, you can set it up the way you want it.

Unfortunately, the process does not work in vice versa. While you can search for your lost iPhone through Google Assistant, you cannot find your Android devices using Siri.
