Microsoft launched a recent update on its Microsoft 365 Roadmap focusing on enhanced protection for Microsoft Teams. This is to offer a solution to Teams users who may be worried about their privacy protection during online meetings.

The update showcases the new feature called Prevent Screen Capture, which aims to put a stop to users attempting to take a screen capture. Whenever anyone joining a Teams meeting tries to capture a screenshot, they will be blocked with a black screen.
The goal is to avoid unwanted screen capture during Teams meeting to preserve privacy and protect sensitive information that might be included in the screenshot.
Microsoft will be rolling out this feature to several platforms including iOS, Android, web and desktop. Other unsupported platforms will be placed in audio-only mode automatically when joining a Teams meeting. It will further enhance protection on users.
As of now, the feature is still in development with anticipated start of rollout in July 2025.
