Effective online communication is valuable in any organization or entity. However, jumping from one platform to another increases the risk of losing the message in the process. That is the reason why Microsoft integrates its apps to create a seamless information dissemination process.

One example is the embedded videos on Outlook via Microsoft Streams. Instead of directing your email recipients to a different platform when viewing videos attached to your message, they can immediately watch these content right inside the email platform.

Such an inline video playback function in Outlook reduces the need to leave inbox and open a video streaming app. If you have a video on Microsoft Stream, you can easily embed them on your next emails.

The new embed function on Microsoft Outlook is available on all Outlook on the web and new Outlook for Windows users. It will soon be available to Outlook for Windows Classic. You need to have a stable Internet connection to use the function. Plus,  you can also save or store your videos in SharePoint or OneDrive.

Here’s how it works:

  • Launch Outlook on the web or the new Outlook for Windows.
  • Click New mail to start a new email.
  • Go to Microsoft Stream and create a link.
  • Copy and paste the link into your email body.
  • Another way is to click Attach and attach the video stored from OneDrive.
  • Then, finish your email message and hit Send.

If you want to edit the permissions on your video link, right click on the link and see the settings. You can also change the style of your embedded video to link by right clicking on the video file, selecting Link Styles and choosing Link.

Microsoft makes it possible for users to integrate systematic procedures into their work. Try using the new embedded videos on Outlook and see if it works for you and your organization.
