Microsoft is officially launching its new operating system called Windows 11 in the coming days. If you want to upgrade your PC to Windows 11, you need to make sure that it has the minimum system requirements to install the new OS.

Windows 11 will offer a big change for Windows users with improvements both in performance and user interface from its long-time running precursor, the Windows 10. It will feature a new Start button with the menu centered on the taskbar. You will see the Live Tiles on the Start menu and a separate search interface. It will introduce more improved dark and light modes.

If you tried Windows 10X, you will see similarities in terms of the user interface. More of the display and appearance features from Windows 10X will be integrated into Windows 11. Microsoft introduced Windows 10X for dual-screen devices.

Windows 10 will support Android apps and features called Snap Layouts and Snap Groups to help manage your apps. Microsoft will also be introducing a new Windows store. Now, you will see more support for Android apps that are not available before.

As for performance and functionalities, Microsoft promises more efficient and smaller Windows updates that will be happening in the background.

The good thing about all these is that Windows 11 upgrade is free. Existing Windows 10 users can avail of the update without paying for anything. However, there are feature-specific requirements that you need to meet before you can download, install, and use Windows 11.   • You need to have a Microsoft account.
  • You need to have a reliable Internet connection.
  • PC Memory – 4 GB RAM
  • Processor (CPU) – 1 GHz or faster, two or more cores on the 64-bit processor or System on a Chip (SoC), at least an 8th generation Intel Core processor or equivalent Pentium/Celeron, AMD’s Ryzen 2000 or later,
  • Graphics card – DirectX 12 compatible graphics / WDDM 2.x
  • System firmware – UEFI, Secure Boot capable
  • Storage – 64 GB or larger
  • Display – More than 9 inches, 720p HD resolution or greater
  • Trusted Platform Module (TPM) – version 1.2 for hard floor, version 2.0 for soft floor

If you want to enjoy the key features that are included in Windows 11, there are feature-specific requirements that you have to consider. To fully get the best of Windows 10, your computer system and hardware must be beyond the minimum requirements listed above.

Now, if your PC does not meet the system requirements, you can still run Windows 10. According to Microsoft, Windows 10 is here to stay until 2025.
