Touch screen features on a laptop look appealing and more advanced. It gives you another option for navigating around your computer aside from using your keyboard and mouse.

However, touch screens also have their share of disadvantages. You may love its added function to your laptop and the distinction it gives from other computers. But, there are times when they use up more of your batteries compared to regular ones. You may experience sensitivity issues that make you more prone to mistakes and errors. Sometimes, there are issues with the accuracy of the touchscreen or the delayed feedback.

  1. So, the above is exactly what the Geek Squad had helped with and disabled when I took my touch screen in. I have some visible damage to the screen face on the device. There is a small chip in the glass on the very bottom right-hand side of the screen with a hairline arc, that runs about two inches from the bottom, back towards the lower center of the screen. I went through the steps in the article see that this selection is still disabled.

Strangely enough, there must still be some other error lingering. As when I ‘touch’ the screen nothing is triggered or happens (i.e. launching or ghost clicking), however, I still have an issue that every few seconds the mouse cursor will still jump to the lower right quadrant of the laptop screen, even if I am utilizing a second monitor. Say for example, I am: using the mouse left-click button to ‘drag’ a window, after somewhere between about 3 to 8 seconds the cursor will, ‘jump’ to that quad.

This repositioning even happens when the cursor is otherwise idle.

Is there anything that can be done to disable the cursor from repositioning itself?
