How to Fix Camera App Keeps Flickering Issue or Random Blinking Glitch on iPhone 14 Devices or Later

For those of you who have the time to stick around, here is the full explanation of what to do.

Deactivate Macro Mode

Sometimes macro mode can cause your iPhone to act pretty wackily. This is especially true if you have an iPhone 13 or 14. To deactivate macro mode, open Settings, and tap Camera. Then toggle off Macro Control; after you’re done, check to see if that solves the problem. If it doesn’t, then you’ll need to do one of these other things.

Lock the Camera

Locking the camera might not seem like the first thing you’d do, but it works. You can lock the camera by going into your settings. You should familiarize yourself with all the camera settings in your iPhone because you’ll need to play with them from time to time.

Go to Settings and Camera and then Record Video. From there, you can lock the camera and get yourself back on track to using your phone like you’d normally want to.

Switch off Live Photos

This is a little more complicated, but it’s still the same process. You tap on settings and then go to Camera. After that, you go to Preserve Settings and then Live Photos. Turn off Live Photos, and hopefully, you will see a difference.

Reboot the iPhone

Rebooting is what you should always do when you’re having any kind of problem with your iPhone. It’s surprising how many things can be fixed with just a simple reboot. Restarting your phone clears out the memory and can fix a million different problems. If you’re having any problem with your phone, reboot it and see if that helps.

Upgrade the iOS Software

Are you one of these people who never updates iOS? Apple releases updates to their operating system for a reason, and it’s to fix problems like these. Who knows, the camera problem you’re experiencing could be something millions of others worldwide are having.

Upgrading your iOS is something you should do often. Always check for updates and download and install them immediately. It’s a huge mistake to have a phone with an outdated operating system sitting in your pocket.

Reach Out to Apple Support

Reaching out to Apple support should be a last resort. If you’ve done all of these things and nothing has worked, it’s time to reach out to the support team at Apple. Make sure you write down the problem that you’re having and all the solutions you tried. The more information you can give Apple’s support staff, the more they’ll be able to help you without trying everything.

So, how is your camera working now? Is it flickering or blinking? Hopefully, the answer to that question is no, and you’re back to talking pictures that will freeze precious moments in time for eternity.
