How to Troubleshoot & Fix Microsoft Teams App or Website Not Working on Chromebook Chrome OS Device

Chromebook is a reliable device for a lot of users, especially for students. It is stable and easy to use. To continue using the MS Teams web app or website on your Chromebook device when you are confronted with a ChromeOS problem, follow each of the solutions below.

Solution #1 – Clear the Cache in your Chromebook

  • Launch the Settings menu in your Chromebook.
  • Go to Apps.
  • Select Manage your apps.
  • Look for Microsoft Teams.
  • Click More Settings and permission.
  • Select Storage.
  • Click Clear Storage.

Solution #2 – Reinstall Microsoft Teams Web App or Android App

  • Click the Launcher on your Chromebook device.
  • Select the Up arrow.
  • Look for Microsoft Teams and right-click on it.
  • Click Uninstall. You can also select Remove from Chrome.
  • Click Remove.
  • To reinstall Microsoft Teams, launch Google Play Store.
  • Look for Microsoft Teams and install the app.

Solution #3 – Use Microsoft Teams from Google Chrome Browser

If you continue to have problems with the Microsoft Teams app, you can switch to the web browser version of the platform. Launch Google Chrome browser and go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-ww/microsoft-teams/log-in. Login to your MS Teams account and access your tools.

Solution #4 – Update your Microsoft Teams App

  • Open the Google Play Store app.
  • On the upper left corner, click the three-lined icon.
  • Select Apps.
  • Look for Microsoft Teams and click Update if available.
