Apple Pay is already available as another payment option on Sony PlayStation 5 device when purchasing games via the mobile app or the browser. Adding it as a new native option on the console widens the network.
But, not everyone in the world can enjoy this added comfort. As of now, it is only available to selected countries and regions. You need to verify it first.
So, how does Apple Pay work as a payment option on the PS5 gaming console? All you need is a QR code. When you select a game on your PS5, look for the Apple Pay button. Click so that a special code will appear on the TV screen. Scan it with your iPhone device. Complete the transaction on the checkout screen.
Take note that you need to upgrade your iPhone software version to iOS 18 for you to enjoy the benefits. You also need to have Apple Pay set up on your device.
As of now, Apple Pay is only available on PS5 and not yet on PS4.
