Apple made a breakthrough in its technology with the launch of the M1 chip in 2020. It offers a more efficient system, creating a better performance for the Mac models. Last October 2020, Apple released its first M1 Mac models.

Apart from the features above, VLC will use the Mac’s GPU to offer its users high-resolution video. Now, you can watch 4k to 8K videos using the media player. Plus, enjoy the 10-bit HDR, 360-degree video, and surround audio. The new VLC app version will also have fixes for bugs in the previous versions.

To download the new VLC Media Player 3.0.12, go to official VideoLAN website on any browser. Click the Download VLC button.
Note that there are options for you before you download the VLC Media Player. The M1 Mac run on a new universal binary system with codes for Apple silicon and Intel. VLC is using its Intel Code and not the Apple universal binary feature.
