A lot of users are using cell formatting on their spreadsheets to create a better appearance and format for their data presentation. But, if you receive a worksheet and do not want the customized formatting used, you can remove it.

When you clear cell formats in Microsoft Excel, it will not affect the data included in it. You will only remove the colors, font changes, or cell adjustments. The contents will remain as it is. If ever you change your mind, you can reapply the same formatting on your cells as before.
