Take your collaboration projects up a notch with new loop components now available on OneNote apps. You can easily organize various components in your OneNote notebook and make it live and interactive for access by your teammates. The embedding function enables you to obtain data without having to jump from one app to another.

Loop components are available in Microsoft Teams and now accessible in Windows Desktop app and OneNote web. With the expansion to other Microsoft apps, collaboration becomes more seamless and effective. You can create new loop components and paste them in your apps for easy access by other users in your organization.

What’s more, syncing is made real time hence changes take place instantly. If you edit a loop component in OneNote, changes made are immediately seen if you have pasted it in Teams or other Microsoft 365 apps. It creates better collaboration during Teams meetings, making a working environment almost similar to a real life setting. 

Different Loop components include Paragraph, Table, Checklist, Bulleted list, Numbered list and Code. You can also create templates such as Task list, Voting table, Progress tracker, Kanban board, Team retrospective and Q&A. Loop components feature other tools like comments, reactions and mentions.

Interested in using loop components on Microsoft OneNote? Here’s how you can use it.

  • Launch your OneNote Notebook.
  • Move your cursor to the location where you want to add a loop component.
  • Click Insert.
  • Select Loop Components.
  • Click on your desired loop component.
  • Now, enter your content.

Sharing your Loop Component

You can share your loop component by sending a link to any user or mention them in the content. To send a link, click the Copy link icon on the top right corner of your Loop component. Now, paste it to the other apps or send it to another user. To mention a user, simply type @ and the username.

Microsoft Loop components are only available to commercial Microsoft 365 subscriptions. It may also be available only to targeted release users in the organization via Insiders Beta for OneNote Windows desktop app. Your organization should allow link creation that can be edited or viewed by anyone in your organization.
