Now, Microsoft is offering a helping hand with its new Math Solver feature on the Edge Chromium browser. With just a snap of a picture, you can get the solution to your math problems with the process of how to do it. Microsoft Math Solver will be able to help students learn more about their math lessons on Windows 10 or 11 PC and Mac computer.

How Does Microsoft Math Solver Work?

The Microsoft Math Solver is available on the Microsoft Edge browser. When enabled, you can upload a photo or image of your math problem, and the math solver feature will send you the step-by-step process on how to compute and come up with the solution and solve it. You can send a printed or a handwritten copy.

You can also type the problem through the mathematical keyboard. It will include math symbols and characters for more accurate calculator input. To launch it on your Microsoft Edge browser, click the Math Solver icon near the address bar. Click Select Math Problems to upload a picture or Type Math Problems to enter the problem.

However, if you feel that your student becomes more reliant on the Math Solver calculator tool and does not initiate to learn how to solve the problems themselves, you can remove or hide the feature.

The Microsoft Edge Math Solver aims to assist students with their math problems. But, if it becomes an excuse to get the answer quickly and not learning at all, then it is better off hidden or removed from your Edge browser. Follow the steps below to how to remove or hide the math calculator tool on Windows 10/11 or macOS device.

  • Launch your Microsoft Edge browser.
  • Right-click on the Math Solver icon.
  • Select Hide from Toolbar.

If you prefer to totally disable or turn off the complex math equations calculator feature, you can easily access the flags section of Microsoft Edge browser settings to do it.

  • On the address bar, enter edge://flags.
  • Search for math solver.
  • Beside the Math Solver in Microsoft Edge, click the drop-down menu.
  • Select Disabled.
  • Click the Restart button.
