If you experience an ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED network connection error code on your Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browsers, there are several ways and solutions that you can do to troubleshoot and fix the issue on PC. Let’s examine each of the methods below.

Solution #1 – Check your Internet Connection

One of the main reasons for the “Err Internet Disconnected” problem is the lost WiFI Internet network signal. You may try to check if your Internet has an active network connection or not. Sometimes, this may not be on your end but can be an issue with your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

Try accessing your Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browser using a different device if you can connect to the Internet. You can also perform a speed test to check your WiFi network signal strength.

Solution #2 – Power Cycle your PC and Router Devices

  • Exit your Chrome or Firefox browser.
  • Turn off your Windows 10 PC. 
  • Unplug your router and modem.
  • Wait for at least 1 minute before plugging them back in.
  • Connect to the Internet and turn on your Windows 10 PC.
  • Now, relaunch your Chrome or Firefox browser and check if the error is still there.

  • Select More tools.
  • Click Clear browsing data.
  • Set the Time Range to All Time.
  • Check the boxes next to Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
  • Click Clear Data.

  • To clear the cache on your Firefox browser, click Firefox.
  • Select Preferences.
  • Go to Privacy & Security.
  • Look for the Cookies and Site Data section.
  • Click Clear Data.
  • Check the box next to Cached Web Content.
  • Click Clear.

Solution #4 – Temporarily Disable Windows Defender or Antivirus

  • Click the Start button.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Select Update & Security.
  • Click Windows Security.
  • Choose Firewall & network protection.
  • Select your network.
  • Go to Microsoft Defender Firewall.
  • Toggle it to Off.

Solution #5 – Flush your DNS Settings

  • Click the Start button.
  • Select Command Prompt (Admin)
  • Run the following commands:
    • ipconfig /release
    • ipconfig /all
    • ipconfig /flushdns
    • ipconfig /renew
    • netsh int ip set dns
    • netsh winsock reset

  • Select Add-ons and Themes.
  • Go to Extensions.

Now, look for the possible problematic extension. Toggle the switch to disable it.
