The much-awaited feature for Microsoft Outlook Lite is finally coming! Microsoft has been working on integrating text messages into the email app. Now, the giant tech company announced that SMS support is soon to be expected on the Outlook Lite mobile phone app.
Specifically designed to cater email functionality on Android smartphones at low resources, Outlook Lite offers a simple version of the full-fledged Microsoft Outlook email. While it lacks features and customization than its full application, the Lite version enables users to access their emails via a small download size app.

Microsoft’s SMS support function on Outlook Lite will enhance its overall experience to users. You can easily get in touch with anyone in your contacts either via email or text message without leaving the app. You can also access your calendar and contacts easily.
However, the addition may not be as fully integrated as users expect. MIcrosoft is simply adding a new SMS tab in the email app and organizing your text into different categories. The SMS feature will not also work with RCS messages such as in Google Messages, hence you cannot access them on your Outlook Lite.
