Methods to Use Split-Screen Mode to View Tabs & Apps Side-by-side on Chromebook Computer
There are different ways for you to enable the split-screen mode on your Chromebook computer. You can check each method below and try which one will work best for you.
Method #1 – Learn the Keyboard Shortcuts on ChromeOS
Chromebook lets you use the split-screen tool with a few presses of key combination on your keyboard. Here are a couple of useful keyboard shortcuts you can use on your Chromebook device now.
- Press the Alt key + the open Bracket key [ on your Chromebook. It will move the app to the left.
- If you press the Alt key + the close Bracket key ], it will move the app to the right.
Method #2 – Reduce the Size of the Apps or Tabs
- First, you have to minimize the apps and leave one open.
- Then, reduce the size of the opened app and drag it into one part of the screen.
- Launch the other apps.
- Reduce the size of your apps and drag them on the screen.
Method #3 – Make Use of the Chrome OS Maximize Button
- Go to the first app and look for the Maximize button on ChromeOS.
- Click and hold the button until you see the left and right arrows.
- You can then drag the window either to the left or right.
- Do the same with the other app.
Method #4 – Drag the App on the Screen
- Open the first app.
- Click, hold, and drag it either to the left or right side of the screen.
- When you see an outline, release it to snap the app in place.
- Do the same with the other app.
