Quibi is here! The much-awaited mobile-only streaming service that offers quick bite-size entertainment has hit the road with a worldwide grand launch recently. Quibi (pronounced: kwib-ee) is a portmanteau of “quick bites”. True to its name, users can expect TV quality original shows but broken up into mini episodes of about 8 to 10 minutes long.
The idea behind Quibi is to fill the space in between regular TV and the ever-growing streaming services. It is easily comparable to TikTok but with shows and programming productions in the quality of Netflix or HBO. The newest streaming service however is only available on mobile devices.

The episodes on Quibi are scheduled to be dropped on daily instalments as the app is designed to be habitual. You really need to come in everyday to get your dose of the shows you enjoy, much like your old television. It is also being pushed as the podcast for videos, something you enjoy watching while doing something else.
Quibi has been on production for some time now. The timing of its release is either a hit or miss though. With the community quarantines and lockdowns all over the world due to Coronavirus, people have a lot of time for longer TV shows and movies.
However, bite-sized entertainment might just be what we’re looking right now in the midst of all these. Well, I guess we just have to see in the coming days or weeks what the response of streamers are about Quibi.
What Shows to Watch and Enjoy on Quibi?
The majority of the shows on Quibi is the kind of stuff you can find on regular TV, just broken up into smaller pieces. Episodes at 10 minutes or less and new shows coming up every week – that’s what Quibi has in line for us.
