Been seeing ads but not interested? Many people feel the same way too! However, not everyone has the option to block off ads on a platform. Good thing Discord allows you to do so.
Discord got on the track towards game promotion when it launched Sponsored Quests earlier this year. A form of advertising, Sponsored Quests gives its advertisers a chance to promote their games and apps on the platform.
How Does Discord Sponsored Quests Work?

Sponsored Quests releases ads in a form of quests where users can complete to earn in-game rewards. For instance, you can stream a game for 15 minutes as an objective and you get a reward after completing the mission.
You can see these ads on the left navigation panel just above your profile or call button. It is a small banner when popped out on screen, so many users don’t mind them or obstruct their overall Discord experience. Even if you are not a gamer per se, you can still enjoy accomplishing small quests through these ads.
How to Opt Out on Discord Ads or Sponsored Quests

Now, if you don’t love the idea of seeing ads on Discord, you can always turn it off. Here’s how you can do it.
- On Discord, head over to Settings.
- Select Privacy & Safety.
- Go to the bottom and navigate to the How We Use Your Data section.
- Look for In-game rewards (aka Quests) and toggle the slider to off.

Ads are not for everyone, so it is great for Discord to allow its users the option to opt out of Sponsored Quests. But, if you want to enjoy these mini challenges for a small reward, you can always enable them again through the Gift Inventory option under Settings.
