It’s time of the year once again when Unicode Consortium releases the brand new set of emoji symbols to the public. Emoji 13.0 version brings in a total of 117 new emojis available for developers to integrate into their apps. However, the actual number of emojis being adapted into an app or operating system varies. Most developers pick up about half of these new symbols.
The 2020 emojis is composed of popular icons that represent trending topics, objects and personalities of the recent year. We have new sets of facial expressions, body parts symbols, animals, insects, fruits and other food and drinks.
The appearance of these new emojis may differ depending on what platform and device you are using. For instance, a Bubble Tea emoji looks different when used in an Apple device than in Android or Windows operating system. However, the themes remain consistent from previous releases. You have people icons such as faces in a Santa hat or people in tuxedos and ninja emoji. Not to mention animals, insects, food, drinks, trucks, instruments, earth elements and the list goes on.
The new emojis will be available for use on the second half of 2020.
