HDR is called High Dynamic Range. It is a video output setting that lets you set a higher contrast on your video quality compared to the Standard Dynamic Range or SDR. You can use more brightness and a larger color range on your games. There are vivid colors, better picture quality, more highlights, and detailed pictures.

If you want to experience HDR quality when playing games on PS5, enabling the setting takes only a few steps to get it.

  • On your PlayStation5, navigate to the Settings menu.
  • Go to Screen and Video.
  • Select Video Output.
  • Now, choose HDR and enable it.
  • If you change your mind, follow the steps above and turn HDR off.
