Google Meet made online meetings easier and more convenient than before. But just like in-person meetings, there are always some moments that you’d want to relive and re-watch later.

The good news is that Google Meet has a recording feature that lets you do exactly just that.

But how do you even find the location of these recordings? Where do they go in the first place? How will you download the videos if you need or want to?

Take a look at the different ways of finding the location of your Google Meet video recordings.

Meeting organizers can view recordings from their Google Drive. All you have to do is go to Google Drive and then log in using the same account for Google Meet.

Proceed to My Drive and look for the folder labeled Meet Recordings. Open this to view all the recordings. If the folder doesn’t contain the recording, wait for several minutes since it often takes some time before Google processes the video. You can then add it to Google Drive once the recording stops. You can also share and download the recordings in Google Drive.

Ways to Locate Saved Video Recordings on Google Meet via Gmail

You will receive an email on your Gmail account every time you record meetings on Google Meet. To view them, just follow these steps.

  1. Look for the name or label ‘Meet-recordings-noreply.’
  2. Open this mail and then click on the option Open in Drive so that the attachment will open on Drive.
  3. This will now open the video but its location will remain hidden. Just click on the download icon to download it.

Remember that the download may take some time depending on the strength of your internet connection and the file size.

Google Meet video recordings are also sent to your email inbox. Once your meeting is finished, you will receive an email containing a link to your video. This is possible if you started the recording or you planned the meeting yourself.

To access the meeting recordings, all you have to do is click on the link indicated in the email so you can open the recording in your Google Drive. You can download the recording by hovering on the video and then clicking on the Download icon. This will save the recording to your device as a .webm file.

You just need to use a media player that handles .webm files so you can play the video recordings. The most common options include Windows Media Player, VLC, and QuickTime.

Summing It Up

Google Meet video recordings can come in handy for many uses or purposes. Maybe you want to relive some special moments, or there are important points raised during the meeting that you want to study further.

Recording the videos will make things easier for you. By knowing where to locate these recordings, you won’t have a hard time trying to find them just when you need the videos the most.
