#1 – Rebook your Chromebook
One of the easiest ways to fix the crashing or stopping error is to restart your Chromebook device. Exit all running apps. Go to the notifications area and look for the Shut Down icon. Turn off your Chromebook. Now, press the Power button to restart your device.
#2 – Force Quit Google Play Store
If you continue to experience the ChromeOS problem, you can try to force quit the Google Play Store.
- Navigate to the Settings menu.
- Select Apps.
- Go to Manage your apps.
- Choose Play Store.
- Click More settings and permissions.
- Choose Force Stop.
- Click OK.

#4 – Do a Hardware Reset on your Chromebook
- Shut down your Chromebook.
- On your keyboard, look for the Refresh and Power keys.
- Press the Refresh and Power keys at the same time, and do not release until your Chromebook starts up.
- When your device starts up, release the Refresh key first.
- Then, release the Power button when it reboots.
#5 – Update ChromeOS on your Chromebook DeviceÂ
- Navigate to the Settings menu of your Chromebook.
- Select About Chrome OS.
- Click Check for updates.
- Install available updates and restart your Chromebook.
