The Report Junk button appears under the spam messages sent on your iPhone.
However, there have been instances when users cannot see the Report Junk option button. It is not showing up and simply went missing. Instead, they only see the spam message and have no option to report the sender. According to Apple, the button only appears on text messages sent within the iMessage network. It means that if the spam message is an SMS, it will not show the Report Junk option. Your messages cater both to SMS and iMessage, which is Apple’s Internet-based messaging service.

Having a Report Junk button on iMessage can connect you to the Delete and Report Junk option directly. When you tap the button, you have the option to filter out and delete the message and send it to Apple for review. If not, it remains as any other message.

If you do not want to receive any message from an unknown sender, you can completely block the contact from your list.
- Tap the spam message to open it. Make sure not to tap any links on the message.
- Tap the phone number or the name on top of the message.
- Select Info.
- Select info again.
- Choose Block this Caller.
- Tap Block Contact.
How to Filter Messages from Unknown Sender on iPhone
- Launch the Settings menu on your iOS device.
- Go to Messages option.
- Look for Filter Unknown Senders and toggle the button to On to Turn on the feature or Off to disable it.
