Windows Store Error 0x80072F05 The Server Stumbled



The Microsoft Store for Windows 10 enables you to download applications that are useful for your computer use. However, there are many users who have come across an error when they try to access the Microsoft Store. The error is “0x80072F05 – The server stumbled”.

One of the reasons why you encounter error 0x80072F05 is corrupted files in your Windows Store. There may be internal issues also so it may take awhile before it is resolved by Microsoft. If you are experiencing this error now, check out the solutions below:

Solution 1 – Reset Windows Store Cache

  • Next, right click on WSReset to open a drop down menu and click Run as administrator.
  • This will automatically reset the cache.

Solution 2 – Disable Proxy Settings

  • Go to Start. Click Settings
  • Choose Network and Select Proxy.
  • Look for Manual proxy setup.
  • Under Use a proxy server, toggle the button to Off.

Solution 3 – Check your Antivirus


Antivirus softwares are helpful in keeping your computer protected. Still, there are antivirus that causes problems with your network. One way to check if your antivirus causes the error is to check its settings.

Check which setting may cause interference and try to disable it to prevent the error.

Solution 4 – Adjust the Time and Date of Your Computer

It may seem like a small thing that a different time and date on your computer can affect processes to better set it correctly.

  • At the bottom of your screen, click the time and date.
  • Next, select Adjust date/time.
  • Set your Time Zone and click Sync Now.
  • If you want to manually change the date and time, click Turn off the Set time automatically option.
  • Click Change and set the time.

Solution 5 – Register Your Windows Store App Again

  • In the search bar, type Powershell.
  • Next, choose Windows PowerShell.
  • Right click on the option and select Run as administrator.
  • Type this command, followed by an Enter: Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)AppXManifest.xml”}
  • This will restart your computer once done.

Solution 6 – Run Troubleshooter

  • Go to Start and click Settings.
  • Choose Update and Security.
  • On the left side, click Troubleshoot Apps.
  • Next, select Windows Store.
  • Click Run the Troubleshooter. It will then check and resolve errors.

Solution 7 – Check Necessary Services

  • Open Run by pressing the Windows Key + R simultaneously.
  • Type services.msc and click OK.
  • Look for Windows Update and double click to open.
  • Under Path Executable, choose Automatic for Startup Type.
  • Next, click Start and click Apply.
  • Click OK to save the changes.
