Samsung Pay offers a convenient way for its users to pay without the use of cash or plastic cards. It is integrated in every Samsung device and is available to many countries all over the world.

However, even if technology continues to innovate and excel, there are still problems along the way. Some users reported that their Samsung Pay is crashes, freezes, not responding or not working at all. When trying to pay at the counter, their mobile wallets do not seem to work as expected.

Fixing Samsung Pay Crashing, Hanging or Not Working Issue

Solution #1 – Restart Your Samsung Device

A quick restart will refresh your phone’s system and delete the cause of the problem. Tap Restart on your mobile phone and wait for it to properly reboot. Launch Samsung Pay and try again.

Solution #2 – Set the Date and Time Correctly on Your Android Phone

Make sure that your date and time on your Android device are correct with your current location.

  1. On your Samsung phone, go to Settings.
  2. Select General management.
  3. Select Date and time.
  4. Look for Automatic date and time and toggle it to Enabled.
  5. Do the same with the Automatic time zone.

Solution #3 – Re-add Your Card on Samsung Pay

It may be a small glitch in the system. A good way to fix it is to remove your card and add it again.

  1. Launch your Samsung Pay app.
  2. Tap the Menu button.
  3. Go to Cards.
  4. Look for the card that you are using and tap it.
  5. Tap More Options.
  6. Select the Delete card.
  7. Tap Delete to confirm.
  8. Now, re-add your card. Go back to the Home screen.
  9. Tap the + sign.
  10. Select Add Payment Card.
  11. Follow the instructions and save.

Solution #4 – Reset the Samsung Pay App

  1. On your Samsung Pay app, go to the Settings menu.
  2. Select Samsung Pay Framework.
  3. Tap Force stop.
  4. Select Storage.
  5. Tap Clear Cache.
  6. Tap Manage Store.
  7. Select Clear Data.
  8. Tap Delete.
