When work requires access to documents from one computer to another, sharing of folders makes it a lot easier for me. Rather than using an external USB drive, all I have to do is to create permission on sharing a particular folder.

One way to avoid the risk is to make sure that I have full control as to who has access to the shared folders. Let’s see below how we can check who has the access permissions to our files.
- Locate your shared folder and right-click on it.
- Select Properties.
- Navigate to the Security tab.
Look for the Groups or Names section to view all users who have permission to access your folder.
How Do I Know the Type of Access Permission of a User?
Even if several users have access to your shared folders, it does not mean that they have full control of it. There are six types of permissions: Full Control, Modify, Read & Execute, List Folder Contents, Read, and Write.
To verify the level of permission you granted a user, navigate your way to the list of users with access permission as indicated above. Next, click the Advanced button. Go to the Permissions tab. From there, you will view all the access permission.
