External devices help extend the functionalities of your Windows 10 or Windows 11 computer. Your laptop device itself is already a powerhouse tool that gives you what you need for work.

But, there are also other cool features that you can integrate into your Windows 10/11 PC without changing your device. All you need to do is insert an external device.

But, using external devices also draws power from your computer. While these are extremely helpful, they can use up your battery faster. The USB Selective Suspending Setting mechanism on your Windows 10 PC gives you the option to disable the individual port of the external device when not in use. By only suspending a selective port, you can turn off the power stream to idle ports without affecting others.

The USB Selective Suspending Setting on your Windows 10/11 PC helps you conserve battery more effectively. Even if some ports are on idle mode, they still consume battery power. Disabling it temporarily will reduce its consumption to a minimal level.
