YouTube has thousands of content that can make you glued for hours. There are videos from different categories, which can be entertaining, informative, or even both. Some users prefer to simply listen to the audio while doing something else.
However, YouTube interprets users’ inactivity as wasteful and wants you to conserve precious bandwidth. That is why it shows the pop-up notification message, “Video Paused. Continue Watching?” to stop the video and let you respond before it continues playing again.

According to YouTube, it is one way to help users not waste Internet bandwidth when they become inactive while watching videos. Some users may have fallen asleep, and it becomes wasteful to continue showing the content. Still, it may also be a way for YouTube to let their users become more active for advertisement profit.
If you don’t like seeing the Video Paused prompt message or you are getting annoyed by it, you can remove or disable it. Continue reading below to know how to do it.
How to Disable or Remove YouTube Video Paused Continue Watching Prompt
One way to stop and remove the Video Paused notification error when streaming on YouTube is to use the Chrome extension called YouTube NonStop. However, it is only available to Google Chrome and Chromium-based browsers such as Opera, Brave and Microsoft Edge. This will only work on desktop browsers for Mac computer or Windows 10 PC. Follow these steps:

- First, download the extension on the Chrome Web Store.
- On your Google Chrome, Opera, Brave or Microsoft Edge browser, go to the Chrome Web Store.
- Search for YouTube NonStop. Make sure that the developer is lawfx.
- You can also go directly to this link: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/youtube-nonstop/nlkaejimjacpillmajjnopmpbkbnocid
- Click Add to Chrome.
- Click Add Extension to confirm the action.
- After installing the extension on your Chromium browser, go to the Settings menu.
- Click Extensions.
- Look for YouTube NonStop and enable the extension.
Another workaround is to log out of your account when you plan to stream YouTube without interruption. Some users noted that the error does not appear when you are not signed in and of course when you continue to remain active.
Wrapping Up!
Most users prefer to stream a continuous flow of content and playlists when watching YouTube videos. No one likes seeing the message prompt and getting interrupted most of the time. However, note that the Chrome extension we have mentioned above does not remove the notification prompt completely. It only stops it after popping up, giving you a slight pause while watching.
