The issue is, sometimes, these verification emails don’t work. The reasons vary wildly between cases, with many not receiving the emails in the first place. Steam is well-known for its plethora of bugs and performance issues, and this verification problem is common. Thankfully, it’s not too hard to fix it. It just takes a bit of effort, the will to keep troubleshooting continuously, and some time. With any luck, you’ll be able to verify your email address with no problem. Follow our simple fixes, and you’ll be back to gaming in no time!

Method #1 – Resend the Verification Email

  • Sometimes, all it takes is to reset the verification email to the same address.
  • Launch Steam and click on the Steam tab in the top left of the window.
  • Select Settings from the menu.
  • Click on Account and choose the Verify Email Address option.
  • Steam will guide you through the process, so follow the steps carefully.
  • Now, check your email account for the verification email. 
  • If you can’t find it, check your spam folder.

Method #2 – Changing A Defunct Email Address

  • If your registered email address is one you no longer use, then you need to change it to get verified.
  • Launch Steam and click on the Steam tab in the top left of the window.
  • Select Settings from the menu.
  • Click on Account and choose the Change Contact Email Address option.
  • When prompted, select the option “I no longer have access to this email address.”
  • Steam will guide you through changing your email address, so follow the steps carefully.
  • Once done, you can now try to verify your account once again, but with your new email.

Method #3 – Contact Steam Customer Support

  • If the issue isn’t with you, then it probably lies with Steam, so contact Steam support to sort things out.
  • Use your registered email and send a message to support@steampowered.com.
  • Make sure to state your issue clearly and concisely.
  • Send the message and wait for a response from Steam.

With all that done, you should find the verification process much simpler. It’s a shame that Steam faces so many issues like this, but it’s not too bad considering how convenient of a service it is to have.
