Windows 10 PC will have the News and Interests widget on its taskbar for easy access to latest information in your field of interests. All you have to do is click the widget on your taskbar, and you will see top stories on the news, updates on your interested topics, current weather forecast, and more. It will show trending information based on the topics you like.
However, many users complained that the text on their News and Interests Widget is blurry and unclear. The text appearing on the pop-up window screen including the buttons are hard to view and read. If this happens to you, there is a workaround that you can do to fix the blurred screen texts issue.
Workaround to Fix the Blurry Screen Text & Button Issue on your Windows 10 News and Interests Taskbar Widget

One of the ways to deal with the blurry text and button on your News and Interests widget screen is to increase the DPI scaling on your display settings. Doing so will increase the size of the UI screen and text, on your computer screen which will make it easier for you to read the content.
Here’s how to do it:
- First, launch the Settings menu of your Windows 10 computer.
- Go to System.
- Select Display.
- On the right panel, look for Scale and Layout.
- By default, it is set to 100%. You can change it to 125%.Â
- Click the drop-down arrow and select 125%.
- To revert it to its default, follow the steps above and change 125% to 100%.Â
Install Microsoft Update to Fix Blurry News and Interests Widget Screen
Now, Microsoft acknowledged the issue and launched a specific operating system update to deal and resolve the blurry text on the News and Interests taskbar widget. You can download the optional Windows 10 update by following the steps below.
- Open the Settings menu.
- Go to Update & Security.
- Choose Windows Update.
- Look for the update that refers to the blurry text on News and Interests feature.
- Install the update.

How to Disable News and Interests Widget on Windows 10
Still, if you don’t like the News and Interests Widget on your taskbar or do not find it useful, you can disable and turn it off completely from your Windows 10 PC.
- On the taskbar, right-click on a space.
- Select News and Interests.Â
- Choose Turn off.
