Solution #1 – Reboot your Device

This method is often overlooked and frowned upon, but a quick restart will help refresh your Windows system’s connections and processes. Exit the app and restart your device. If it does not work, you may try to power cycle your network devices. It involves unplugging your router and modem for at least 1 minute as you restart your device.

Solution #2 – Verify your Microsoft Family Account

  • On your Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome or other browser, go to https://aka.ms/familyverify.
  • Look for the message, “Verify your account to continue using Microsoft family features.”
  • Click the Verify button.
  • Now, you can verify the account you are using on your Family Safety app.

Solution #3 – Verify your Child’s Account on Microsoft Family

  • Launch the Settings menu.
  • Navigate to Accounts.
  • Select your Account.
  • Verify your child’s account and check if it is syncing.

Solution #4 – Install Available Windows Update on PC

  • Open the Settings menu.
  • Select Update & Security.
  • Click Windows Update.
  • Select Check for Updates.
  • If there are available updates, install them.

Solution #5 – Set the Control Level on Privacy Settings

  • Navigate to the Settings menu.
  • Select Privacy.
  • Go to Feedback & diagnostics.
  • Now, you can set the control level to Optional diagnostic data.

Solution #6 – Disable Windows Defender Firewall

  • Go to the Settings menu.
  • Select Update & Security.
  • Click Windows Security.
  • Look for Firewall & network protection.
  • Choose your network profile.
  • Go to Microsoft Defender Firewall, toggle it to Off.
