How to Troubleshoot and Fix Comcast Xfinity X1 Status Code 221, 222, 223,224 or 225

If you’re having the same issue, take a look at the following potential fixes for any of these mentioned errors. The common error message that comes with these issues might read:

“The video signal has been interrupted – Please check the cable connection. If the problem continues for more than a few minutes, please call Comcast.”

Check for Wiring Issues

Different types of wiring are used in your Comcast cable box. All of these wires need and should work properly. Once you see any of the error codes, you might want to check if the wires are still in good condition. If not, then, consider replacing them with new ones. Just make sure that you only use the highest quality wires to get the best results.

Reboot Your Comcast Box

You can also try to reboot your Comcast box and see if it fixes the problem. To do this, start by unplugging the power cable of your Comcast box. Make sure you wait for 10 seconds before you plug it back in again. Turn on your Comcast box again to check if the error code is gone.

Check for Internet Service Outage

To ensure that there is no service outage, verify the internet connection on other devices linked to your WiFi at home. If all the devices are not working, there’s a high chance that there is an outage with your internet service.

Reset Your Comcast Box

Before you reset your Comcast box, take note that doing so means you will be restoring it to its default factory settings. It also means that all the personalized or customized settings in your box will be removed and restored to how it was when you got your Comcast box for the first time.

Follow these steps to reset your box:

  1. Look for the power button on your Comcast cable box and then press and hold it.
  2. Press the Menu and Power buttons on the remote at the same time to launch the User Settings on your TV.
  3. Look for and choose the option for Restore Defaults.
  4. Press OK to begin the reset process.

If the process is too much for you, you can get in touch with Comcast support and ask them to perform a remote resetting of your equipment on your behalf.

Use Another Outlet

There are instances when your outlet may be the culprit. Try plugging in your Comcast box to another outlet to check if it solves the issue.

Wrapping It Up
