What is Netflix Error Code NW-8-20
Netflix error code NW-8-20 is typically caused by an Internet connectivity problem. You cannot stream Netflix because something is preventing your device from connecting to the service.
What is Netflix Error Code NW-8-14
Netflix error NW-8-14 also indicates that your device is unable to connect to the Netflix servers. It could be that your internet connection is currently down or there is something that hinders your device from connecting to Netflix.

All the same, Netflix error NW-8-17 spells network connectivity issues. The Netflix service is unreachable to your device hence the error.
What is Netflix Error Code NW-1-19
Error NW-1-19 happens when the Netflix data that is stored in your device is not refreshed. Like the other errors above, the main reason for this error is an internet connection problem.
How to Fix Netflix Errors NW-8-20, NW-8-14, NW-8-17 and NW-1-19
Any of these errors can occur on most of the devices that have a Netflix app. This includes gaming consoles, streaming devices such as Roku, Blu-Ray Players, and smart TVs. Follow the methods below to help you troubleshoot and fix these Netflix errors.
Test your Internet Connection
The first thing that you need to do is to check if your device is connected to the Internet. The methods to do this vary from one device to another.
For game consoles, you can use the option to test the internet connection that is built right in your device. Run the test and see if you are connected to the internet. You might want to check if you are connecting to the right network. You can also try to disable and re-enable the internet connectivity setting of your device.
If there is no direct way to test the internet connectivity on your device, you can try and open another app that also requires an internet connection. If the app connects to the internet without a problem, then you can move to the next troubleshooting step.
Restart your Device
Power cycling your device can do a lot when it comes to connectivity issues that cause this type of errors. You will need to completely shutdown your device. Unplug it and then plug it back to complete the power cycle.
You can also do the same for your router. Turn it off and do the power cycle method by unplugging it from your wall socket.
Sign out of Netflix and Sign Back in Again
You can try signing out of your Netflix account and then sign right back in. This method can do wonders sometimes. To do this follow these steps:
- Open the menu on the left side of your Home screen.
- Then select Settings.
- If you can’t see the menu, try to navigate up and select Settings or the gear icon.
- Select Sign out.
- Select Yes to confirm.
Once signed out, sign back in and try to stream Netflix again.
Make Sure that your Network Supports Streaming
Some networks are configured to block streaming of any sort to protect its limited bandwidth. If you are using a public Wi-Fi network then streaming might have been blocked intentionally. You should check with the network administrator if you can, to verify.
If you’re using a cellular data network to stream Netflix, it is possible that your current connection cannot sustain the bandwidth load that Netflix requires.
