Troubleshoot Samsung Galaxy Mobile Device No SIM Card Detected Error

Make Sure to Inspect your SIM Card

  • Press the Power button on your phone to turn it off.
  • Remove your SIM Card from the dedicated SIM card tray.
  • Inspect it properly for visible signs of damage such as stains or scratches.
  • Use a dry and clean cloth to clean both the SIM tray and the card itself.
  • Put back the SIM card in its slot and ensure that you install it properly and securely in the tray.
  • After you have secured back everything into place, switch on your device once again to check if the error is already eliminated.

Restart Your Samsung Galaxy Mobile Device

You can also try restarting your device and checking if it will solve your issue. A simple restart is often enough to fix most minor glitches.

There are two methods for restarting your device.

  • The first one is to use your two fingers and swipe down from the top of your device’s screen to launch the Quick Settings panel. Click the Power icon and choose Restart. Select Restart once again to confirm.
  • The second method is to simultaneously press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons for 7 seconds or so. This will make your device restart.

Reset Your Network Settings

It often occurs after you modify the settings on your device and you manually switch the menu options. However, you have to remember that when you reset your network settings, it will also reset your Bluetooth, WiFi, and the rest of the network settings.

Take note of this in advance before you proceed. Here’s how to reset your network settings:

  1. Launch the Settings menu and click General Management.
  2. Select Reset and choose Reset Network Settings.
  3. Read and go through the details shown on the screen and click Reset Settings.
  4. Select Reset.

Test your SIM Card

Try inserting your SIM card into a different phone to check if it will be detected or not. If the other phone doesn’t detect the SIM as well, it just means that it is already damaged.

You might want to seek assistance from your service provider and replace the SIM card with a brand-new one.

But if the other phone detects the SIM card just fine, your phone might be the culprit behind the error. If this is the case, a servicing of your device might be necessary. You can visit the Samsung Authorized Service Center near you for further assistance.

Fixing the No SIM Card Detected error on your Samsung Galaxy phone isn’t as complicated as it seems. With just a few tips in mind, you can easily fix the issue so you can start enjoying the perks that come with your SIM card.
