Zoom is widely used these days. You can join a video conference for school, work or even personal uses. You can also do a group video call with your loved ones. However, some users complain of the error message, “You are not eligible to sign up for Zoom at this time” when they try to sign up for a Zoom account.

Reasons for Error: “You are not eligible to sign up for Zoom at this time”

It is for a reason why you are stuck with the not eligible error message when signing up for a Zoom account. Zoom only permits users who are 16 years old and above for most countries to sign up for a Zoom account. In other countries, access to Zoom is not even allowed.

You may be below 16 years old or your location access is restricted for you to receive the Zoom error message.

Solution #1 – Have Your Parents, or Someone Older, to Sign Up for You

If you need to sign up or join a meeting in Zoom for a class, you can ask your parents to sign up for you.

Solution #2 – Check If Your Location Has No Zoom Restriction

Go to https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/203806119-Restricted-countries-or-regions to check if your country or region belongs to the restricted locations to access Zoom.

Solution #3 – Clear Your Browser Cache

One of the common reasons is the information in your browser cache. You may have entered the wrong date of birth, which made you under the age limit. It may have stored in your cache and allowing Zoom to remember it. Clear your cache first before signing up again.

Deleting the cache depends on the browser you are using. But, you can always clear the cache by going to the Settings or Tools. Select Clear Browsing Data or Clear Cache.

It helps to try another device such as a tablet if you are using a laptop computer.
