The Galaxy SmartTag+ device has Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Ultrawideband Technology (UWB) that work hand in hand to find your lost things. It claims to be more accurate, precise, and easy to use.

First is the Augmented Reality (AR) technology that will guide you to your missing items. Aside from BLE and UWB technologies, the AR Technology will visually help you go to your misplaced things. You can see it through your smartphone’s camera. It has a simple and easy interface that you can check on your smartphone, so you know which direction to go and how far you are from your Galaxy SmartTag+.

Second, you can know the SmartTag+ location even if it is far away from you. Because of the BLE connectivity, you and other users can create a connection that will help others find their lost tags. But, rest assured that your Galaxy SmartTag+ location will not be revealed to anyone but you.

All you have to do is report your tag as missing, and it will use nearby devices opted it to the server to locate your Galaxy SmartTag+ Samsung device even if it is miles away from you. After being located, you will receive a notification of its location.

Lastly, you can use the Galaxy SmartTag+ and Smart Tag to remotely perform functions in your smart home. You don’t have to rush home when you forget to turn off the lights. You can press and hold down the tag button.

How to Use Samsung Galaxy SmartTag+ Bluetooth Tracker Device

To start using your Samsung GalaxySmartTag+ device, you will need to download the SmartThings app. You can operate using your SmartTag+ through the app. Here’s how:

  • First, go to http://www.samsung.com/smartthings on any browser.
  • Click Google Play Store for Android devices or App Store for Apple devices.
  • Now, set up your Galaxy SmartTag+.
  • Launch the SmartThings app and press the button on your SmartTag.
  • Click Add Now.
  • Choose the Circle.
  • Click Agree.
  • Select Start.
  • Select the Location and Room for your SmartTag.
  • On your SmartTag, press the Center button.
  • Now, follow the instructions to pair them.

  • To locate your Galaxy SmartTag+, tap the Menu button on your Samsung SmartThings tracker app.
  • Select All devices.
  • Choose your SmartTag device.
  • Select Go to map.
  • Once you are close to your tag, it will create a loud ring to detect it.

The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag+ will be available starting April 16, 2021 on the official Samsung store as well as from Amazon. It is available to Galaxy devices with UWB technology such as Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy Note20 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold2. You can choose from two different colors, black or gray, for $39.99.
