Updates are meant to fix bugs on apps and games. Developers continue to watch out for any issue needed fixing. However, that may not be the case with Cyberpunk 2077’s latest major update.
CD Projekt Red released the first big update on Cyberpunk 2077 called the 1.1 patch. The new version promises stability, improve performance, better memory usage, and better visuals. It also includes fixes for various issues including the “can’t save game” problem reported in December. Gamers can progress to their missions that previously have quest bugs. The game offers better optimization on Xbox and PlayStation.
However, gamers found a new game-breaking bug that prevents them from making progress in Cyberpunk 2077. The bug is seen during your phone call with Goro Takemura during the Down on the Street mission. As it seems, you will be stuck in that scene and have nowhere to go.
Gamers try to reload the saves, but it does not do anything. If you have been manually saving the game or using Autosaves, you can reload the older save. But, when you reach the phone call scene, you will still encounter the bug.
But CD Project Red gave a workaround that will help Cyberpunk 2077 gamers get back on their feet and move forward in the game. Check out the steps below.
Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.1 Save Game File Bug Workaround
While CDPR offered a workaround to the bug, not all gamers can progress in the game. Some did it successfully, while others remained stuck. Still, it is better than not doing anything at all.
Here’s the workaround:
- Look for an older save file before Takemura and V leave Wakako’s office. Load it.
- Now, wait for V to finish the conversation with Takemura outside the office.
- Right after the conversation and the quest progression, you have to skip 23 hours.
- It will create the holocall and the correct conversation.
Try following the workaround and see if will help you fix the Cyberpunk 2077 save bug. Otherwise, you can wait for CDPR to create an official fix soon.
