These are the most common issues that users face on their iPhones or iPads after installing the latest iOS version on their devices.

Facebook Not Loading or Opening on iPhone or iPad

After updating your device to iOS 16, tapping on the Facebook app icon on an iPhone or iPad does nothing. It seems that some users also had trouble opening Facebook with the Safari mobile web browser.

Inconsistent & Random Facebook App Crashes on iOS 16

A common Facebook app issue is that it keeps crashing and immediately closes after being opened. After a moment of blackness, you’ll be brought back to the main menu. Even if you’ve upgraded to the most recent version of iOS 16, you may still experience frequent Facebook social media app crashes while watching videos.

Another issue with Facebook after updating to iOS 16 is that you can’t load your latest news feed or update your contacts. It could be the router or network, but software that doesn’t work well together can also stop updates from working.

iOS 16 Facebook App Notifications Not Working

Another issue that has arisen after updating to iOS 16 is a malfunction in Facebook’s push notifications. The iPhone will often vibrate and illuminate the home screen whenever you get new notifications. But when the alert is broken, you can’t respond right away.

Follow each of these troubleshooting methods to help you fix the Facebook app errors on an iPhone or iPad with iOS 16 or iPadOS 16 installed.

Solution #1 – Check iPhone Network Connection

The quality of your network connection is a common source of issues, so double-check that your iPhone’s Wi-Fi is functioning properly. Turning off your WIFI network should fix Facebook problems, including the news feed, profile picture, and comments not updating.

Solution #2 – Close the Facebook App Completely and Open it Again

If you’re using iOS 16, and Facebook freezes after login, you may forcibly quit it by pushing the home button twice and sliding up the app’s preview. After that, reopen Facebook to see whether it’s functioning properly.

Solution #3 – Restart your iPhone

It’s worth a shot to restart your iPhone if Facebook isn’t loading correctly since this is a common issue that may be solved by performing a force restart on your device.

In order to do a force restart on an iPhone 8, 8 Plus, X, XR, Xs, 11, 12, 13, or 14 you must press and immediately release the volume up and down keys, then press and hold the side button (or sleep/wake button) on the right side of the phone until the Apple symbol appears.

Hold the sleep/wake button and the volume down button until the Apple logo displays to perform a hard reboot on an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus. To do a full reboot on an iPhone 6s/6s Plus or earlier model, hold down the sleep/wake button and the home button until the Apple logo appears.

If restarting your iPhone doesn’t solve the Facebook app issue, you may try resetting it to factory settings as a final recourse. Just don’t forget to back up your settings and data before doing it as they will be wiped out completely.
