Having a signature image on your Gmail or Outlook clients can make your email messages look more credible and professional. It also saves you time and effort in typing your signature every after your message.

But, some users find that their Gmail and Outlook email signature image is not showing or fail to display. Whether on their email or their recipient’s email, their signature image does not appear.

How to Fix Email Signature Image Not Showing or Displaying on Gmail & Outlook

For you to fix the problem with your Outlook and Gmail email signature being missing, try following each method below one at a time and check if the error is still there.

Method #1 – Disable the Plain Text Mode

You may have enabled the Plain Text mode on your Gmail or Outlook settings, so it does not show the image on your signature. Here’s how to do it on both email clients.

  • Open a New Message.
  • On the lower right part of your window, click the three-dotted icon. You can find it next to the trash bin.
  • If you see a checkmark next to the Plain text mode, it is Enable. Click it to Disable.

  • On a new email message, click the three-dotted icon.
  • Select Switch to HTML.

Method #2 – Create a New Email Signature Image

Some users claim that creating new email signature fixes the missing image issue on Gmail and Outlook.

  • Click See all settings.
  • Look for the Signature section.
  • Now, add your signature to the text box.
  • Click Save Changes.

  • On your Outlook, click the Office button.
  • Go to Outlook.
  • Select Options.
  • Click Mail/Email.
  • Look for the Signature section.

  • Click OK when done.

Method #3 – Ask your Recipient to Manually Download Images

If you can see your email signature image but your recipients cannot, their email clients may be preventing the automatic download of images. They can manually download the image for them to see your signature.

Method #4 – Verify Your Signature Image

If you downloaded the image directly from your Google Drive, you must check the settings if you have permission to do so. Make sure also that the photo you used is still active and live on Google Drive. If you have deleted it, that may be the reason why it is no longer appearing.
