How to Troubleshoot Google Play Store Not Showing Update Button and only the Open Button

Solution #1 – Clear the Google Play Store Cache and Data
The first step to troubleshooting an issue like this is to clear cache and data on Google Play Store. To do this, follow the steps below.
- Open up Android Settings > Application Manager/Manage Applications > Google Play Store.
- Then press Clear Cache and Clear Data (you may need to confirm).
This will delete all of the temporary files associated with the app, as well as any other saved information you may have stored there.
Solution #2 – Reboot your Android Device
Sometimes a simple reboot can fix minor issues like this one. Hold down the power button until you see a prompt that asks if you want to restart your device. After you agree, let it sit for a few seconds before turning your device back on again so that it can finish its task without interruption.
